November is here and we are already working hard and having so much fun! Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who made Halloween possible. In between all of the fun of Halloween and meeting our BG Intern, Mr. Gross, we had plenty of time to learn and grow!
Classroom Community Updates
Last week in Math, we focused on equivalent fractions and the relationship between fractions and division. This week, students will continue to learn about fractions as we learn how to add and subtract mixed numbers with regrouping. In Reading, students are continuing to learn all about the structure of chronological fiction and determining the difference between main idea and theme. This week, students will continue to deepen their knowledge as we work on context clue strategies for unknown words. In Writing, students worked on narrative writing skills by focusing on sensory details, similes/metaphors, and writing with the reader in mind. This week, students will begin putting those skills to the test in narrative form. In Social Studies, students continued to explore the cause and effect relationship of events leading up to the American Revolution. This week, students will take a break from American history to focus on the effects of specialization on trade between individuals, businesses, and regions.
