Classroom Community Updates
This week in Math, students learned about adding and subtracting mixed numbers in real world situations. In the coming week, students will take their Chapter 3 Celebration of Learning on fractions and then focus on collaborative problem solving. In Social Studies, we focused in on specialization in trade and had students apply their knowledge to a statewide economics calendar competition. This week, we will come back to American history by talking about Loyalist and Patriot opinions leading up to and during the Revolutionary War. In Reading, students learned to discern between main idea and theme in addition to building vocabulary while reading. This week, we will continue vocabulary building and context clue strategies. In Writing, students continue to work on the strategies of adding dialogue, detailed descriptions, and figurative language to their narrative writing. This week we will narrow down our choices for our final narrative and begin the drafting process.
