I hope you had a lovely holiday weekend with friends and family! Thank you so much for attending Parent-Teacher Conferences last week! I feel that we had very productive conversations and want to remind you that I am always available to talk further via phone, email, or another conference. Please don’t hesitate to contact me!
In the week before Thanksgiving Break, we tied up plenty of loose ends! We had our field trip to Sunrise Lake; make sure to check the slideshow out! So many fun activities! We also shared our creative narratives and did a lovely writing activity to prepare for our first big snow of the season. The students completed their Chapter 12 work on Patriots and Loyalists by creating Facebooks, parody songs, and plays to show what they know. We have a creative bunch! Check out some of the amazing products on our classroom Twitter page! We also finished Unit 4 on Division after learning how to divide with decimals numbers as well.
In the coming week, we will begin studying the events of the American Revolution and answering the big question: How were the Patriots able to defeat one of the largest, strongest armies in the world? We will be exploring the art of the reader’s response to literature using evidence form the text during writing and reading time. In Reading, we will also continue our exploration of fiction skills in the various subgenres of fiction. In Math, we will begin exploring the world of fractions in detail! The concepts are tough, but so necessary for al students to understand!
-Don't forget to read Mrs. Bingaman’s Friday Packet!
