I hope you enjoyed this long weekend with some extra time in the snow! Last week was very busy, but what stands out the most is that we said goodbye to Mr. Gross, our intern from Buffalo Grove! We will miss him very much!
Classroom Community Updates
In Math, we took our Celebration of Learning on Monday and then jumped right into another short unit on geometry and area. We will also be taking a short quiz on Chapter 6 in the upcoming week. In Social Studies, the students learned about check and balances in our government as we explored the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. This week, we will take a quiz on the three branches of government on Wednesday and then learn about the Bill of Rights. In Reading, we spent the week exploring nonfiction text structure and summarizing big ideas. We also started our Nonfiction Book Clubs which will continue for the next month! In Writing, students applied their knowledge of ethos, logos, and pathos to full written responses as they incorporated evidence to support their opinions.
