Hello 5th Grade Families!
Halloween is finally here! The students are very excited to spend Tuesday afternoon celebrating during our annual parade and party! Do not forget to read Greenbrier’s Halloween Information that went out from Mrs. Bingaman a few weeks ago. Thank you to all of the parents who have been working hard to plan such an exciting afternoon for our fifth graders!
Classroom Community Updates
In Writing, students have started their final narrative stories that will be in our class book, The Moment. This week, they will continue to add to their final drafts by focusing on the rising action and climax of their stories. In Reading, we learned about elements of fiction and point of view while reading The Liberation of Gabriel King. We will continue to read our fiction stories as we build our fiction skills with temporal words and uncovering theme. In Math, we started Chapter 2 which focuses on multiplication, division, and order of operations. This week, students will continue on their math paths by exploring order of operations. In Social Studies, students are continuing to learn about the events leading up to the revolution and have their first quiz this week!
