We had an exciting week in fifth grade! This week was jam-packed with finishing up some important units and starting some exciting new projects. The students worked so hard to accomplish so much in one short week!
Classroom Community Updates
In Reading, the students finished up our fiction unit with a Celebration of Learning and we began our journey into the genre study of Nonfiction. This week, students will dive into Nonfiction with the set up of our new Nonfiction Workshop Routines. As writers, the students put the finishing touches on our narrative manuscript, The Moment, and we sent it off to the publisher! The students are very excited to see the finished copy in a few weeks! Mr. G will be teaching the students about creative, detailed writing in the upcoming weeks as we move away from narrative writing. In Math, students have been working hard to understand multiplication and division with fractions in real world scenarios. This week we will finish our work with Chapter 4 and take our Celebration of Learning on Friday. In Science, students finished the first half of our unit identifying the properties of matter and now we will move into how properties of matter can change.
