I hope you all enjoyed some quality time with your families over the past few days! Thank you again for taking the time to attend Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday and Tuesday. As always, feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress!
In the week before the long break, our students were very busy! Their Broadway Music Performance on Monday was a hit! Thank you for attending and cheering them on. We finished up our Geometry unit by applying our knowledge to make our very own Geometry City before beginning Unit 4 on Division! In Reading, we focused on nonfiction text structures and identified them through various genre-reading experiences. In Writing, we began our personal narrative Writing unit! The students are enjoying becoming more creative with their narrative writing! In Social Studies, we explored multiple perspectives on the American Revolution by learning about many famous Loyalists and Patriots.
This week will be full of plenty of learning as students come back well rested after break! We will continue learning about multiple division strategies during Math time. As writers, we will continue building our skills as narrative writers by focusing in on adding sensory details to our work. In Social Studies, we will inhabit the multiple perspectives on the American Revolution by creating our own plays with historical characters. In Reading, we will focus on the skills of identifying unknown words using context clues, and the difference between main idea and key details.
