Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who came to Conferences. I was grateful for the opportunity to touch base with you about the progress our fifth graders are making this year. If you ever have any questions as the year goes on, please feel free to email me!
Classroom Community Updates
This week was shorter due to Parent-Teacher Conferences, but we still fit in a lot of learning. During Writing time, students have transitioned their focus to the narrative format and have brainstormed many ideas for personal narrative drafts. In Math, we have begun our exploration of fractions with a focus on equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, and writing answers in simplest form. Next week, we will move into exploring improper fractions and mixed numbers. In Social Studies, we will be exploring the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party as lightning rods for the American Revolution. In Reading, students will continue to explore fiction as we discuss the structure of stories and how to infer themes.
- Mrs. Bingaman’s Blog is always full of great information! This has all of the necessary information about Halloween this week! Please return your Halloween attendance slips and be sure your child knows if and how they will be going home for lunch.
- I hope you take some time to enjoy all of the teamwork and learning happening on our classroom Twitter Page!
