Classroom Community Updates
This week, we worked on the first chunk of Chapter 2 Math Skills by working on multiplying multi digit numbers and applying place value knowledge to simplify problems. This week we will move into applying the same knowledge and skills to division problems. Remember, all math homework is due at the end of each chapter, but students should be working on it nightly to keep up! In Science, students finished the unit with a small quiz and working on their final Science Models. This week we will switch over to Social Studies and begin with a geography research project in collaboration with the LMC. In Reading, students are doing great making their thinking visible as they learn the Notice and Note strategies. This week we will approach the end of the Notice and Note strategies as students gain more independence and responsibility in Book Clubs! In Writing, students are learning how to apply the FACES writing structure to longer written responses using evidence from fiction stories. This week they will continue to strengthen their skills in this area as we continue to read and respond to Liberation of Gabriel King.
