The end of the year is officially here! This is my last official Weekly Update of the 2015-16 School Year! We have had an amazing year full of exciting adventures, growing friendships, and lots of LEARNING! Every child in my class should feel proud of what they have accomplished this year! Thank you to all of you for supporting all of your child’s hard work in their last year at Greenbrier!
As a reminder, we will be having our Goodbye Greenbrier Celebration of 5th Grade on the last day of school from 8:15-9:00. All attending adults should have an ID with them. We will see you there on the 7th!
We finished up our unit on Circles and Variables with a quick quiz and began our end of year review with Math Hunger Games! The team and individual competition has been a fun way for students to brush up all of their 5th grade skills before the summer! We also finished writing our Greenbrier Memory stories; find your child’s hanging up at the Goodbye Greenbrier Celebration! In Reading, the students are actively using their research skills to educate the public about an issue they are concerned about. This ties in with our Ecosystems Science unit as we explore how humans impact ecosystems.
In our last six schools days, we will have lots of fun and continue lots of learning until we say goodbye! We will finish the Math Hunger Games and see who comes out victorious! We will also complete our Action Research projects for our Humans Impacting Ecosystems Reading and Science Units. We are also exploring multiple perspectives on America's Westward Expansion. Students will present their final Genius Hour projects on the last day of school! On top of all of that, we’ll also have end of year fun with Bingo, Field Day, Egg Drop, Desk Cleaning, one last Star Party, and more! Be sure to check our Class Twitter for all of the fun photos!
-This week is our last Spirit Week! Mrs. Bingaman’s Friday Packet has the full list of theme days. Tuesday is Team Day; show your team spirit and wear a shirt or jersey from your favorite team!
-All LMC books were due last week. If any are still at home, please return them to Mrs. Paulson ASAP.
Thank you again for an amazing year! Looking forward to giving these Gators an amazing end to their Best Year Ever!
