Hello 5th Grade Families!
Thank you to all of our you who encouraged your child to donate gently used books to the Open Books Book Drive before the Read-A-Thon! We had a wonderful day celebrating the end of Trimester 1 with our annual Read-A-Thon on Friday!
Classroom Community Updates
In Writing, students finished their final drafts of their personal narratives for our class book, The Moment. The order forms were due on Friday, but late forms will be accepted this week as well. This week, we will finish our narratives for the book by creating illustrations and finalizing our drafts for the book. In Reading, we took our Fiction Celebration of Learning and will finish up our Fiction skills this week before moving into the Nonfiction unit. In Math, we continued to learn about division by practicing estimation skills and using powers of ten to simplify problems. This week, we will continue to practice our division skills by reviewing the long division algorithm with multi-digit numbers.
